"The way I understand the skeleton fight scene, it was accomplished by using a single frame rear screen projection of the actor fighting the air. Each frame was projected onto the rear screen. Ray H. then animated his skeletons, one frame at a time in front of the rear screen projection of the actor. A camera was placed and focused so that it could capture the skeleton and the rear screen image together."

Frank & Ollie

                                        'The Friendship that changed the face of Animation'.

Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston were two core animators at Walt Disney Productions, who were involved in some of Disney's most famous works. The last two of Disney's 'Nine Old men' to pass away, they had animated a large amount of well known characters from many films. Frank and Ollie do cameos in both of Brad Bird's films 'The Iron Giant' and 'The Incredibles', this was Bird's tribute to the two of them and Disney's Nine Old Men.

At the end of 'The Incredibles' film, Frank and Ollie appear watching the heroic acts of The Incredibles.
Frank: Hey you see that? That's old school. That's the way you do it.
Ollie: No school like the old school.

Frank animated the famous Spaghetti scene from 'The Lady and the Tramp', while Ollie animated 'Lady' throughout most of the film.

The Lady and the Tramp

Walt Disney first came up with the idea for "The Lady and the Tramp' when Joe Grant, who also happens to be one of the main ideas people, approached him with some sketches of his dog named Lady. 

In 1943, Walt read Joe Grant's story in Cosmopolitian called 'The Cynical Dog' which further helped him further develope his idea for the movie. Joe Grant is the second main idea person.

The film was made in 1955 and released in 1956.

Hey, I'm Michelle and welcome to my Blog :)
I come from a small town called Weipa and am now living in Brisbane, studying Animation at SBIT.

Some of my favourite styles of animation would be Tim Burton's dark and creepy, yet unique characters in his films. Im also a big fan of realistic/semi-realistic animation, like in the 'Final Fantasy' franchise, Kingdom Hearts etc. Animation with sketchy lines are also one of my faves if their done well, like this video ;)

This animation was one of the first things to inspire me to become an Animator :)
I used to be an Anime-addict and thats really influenced my style of art, but i want to try and create more realistic artworks/animations.
My attempt at trying to draw more realistic -.-

2D and 3D animation films from Dreamworks, Disney etc are styles i would like to attempt one day,eg Shrek, How to Train your Dragon, Legends of the Guardians, Princess and the Frog etc :)
