The character looks good in the layout. Consider a variation on the shade of the top so the body shape and line of action don't get visually lost in the hair shade. This character is hiding her eyes (the most expressive part for facial animation). But it could be a good idea for this project as it will require some lip synch and you can focus on that.
I love this Character Design! I like the style and coloring a lot. I also like that you have staged it with the image like that, and it was probably unintentional, however I like how it has the similar color contrast. I like the design, however it will need to rely upon good posing for the animation as Frank said, so you'll need to focus on Line of Action and Pose. Solid Artwork!
